Austrian Federal Provinces

Vienna

Capital city. A23 (Südosttangente) and A22 (Donauuferautobahn) are the main motorways.

Lower Austria

Surrounds Vienna. A1 (West Motorway), A2 (South Motorway), and A21 are key connections.

Upper Austria

A1 connects Linz with Vienna and Salzburg. A9 (Pyhrn Motorway) leads to Graz.

Salzburg

A1 and A10 (Tauern Motorway) are the main connections. Important transit corridor.

Tyrol

A12 (Inn Valley Motorway) and A13 (Brenner Motorway) with special toll. Key Alpine crossing.

Vorarlberg

A14 (Rhine Valley Motorway). Arlberg Tunnel with special toll. Border with Germany and Switzerland.

Styria

A2 (South Motorway) runs from Vienna through Graz to Slovenia. A9 connects with Linz.

Carinthia

A2 and A10 meet in Villach. Karawanken Tunnel (special toll) to Slovenia.

Burgenland

A3 (South Burgenland Motorway) and S31 (Burgenland Expressway). Border with Hungary.
